Punch it Out

Cheek bones, angles, purple gloves, and a whole lot of movement. When your photo shoot becomes a workout in itself on a daring hot day, all you can do is punch it out and hope for the best.

Okay, I swear I’m not just hiding under my blankets from the strange weather, watch The Office (US) and looking for new games to play on my phone. I always feel so angry and annoyed at myself whenever I don’t post, or miss a week on this blog, but I guess that’s something that I’m just going to have to deal with, and work around in order to give you guys the best content I possibly can. Now to the images at hand.

I was able to work with the lovely Bella Scaturro again, who is always more than a pleasure to work with, especially when I have no idea what I’m doing. Sometimes you get criteria where you have to do this, this and this, but you just stare at it while your head yells ‘why’. We were experimenting with movement and the most obvious way I could think of displaying that was sports. I know, it’s really obvious, but hey, there’s always a time constraint with these things.

People walked passed as Bella jumped into the air or we would have to run off to the side as cars would park or leave the area. We had a feeling that we were probably at the back of various apartments. As people stopped and stared or smiled, they were polite enough to leave us to our business, as we tried to find what would work with the camera. Blurred images and slow shutter speeds are definitely not my forte. As the day began to get darker, I had hoped that I gained the images I needed, which (thankfully) were just about right. From University assignments, and essays to magazine photo shoots and blog posts, I’ve found that downtime means sleeping and editing. I always note that these things are hectic, and I know it’s just me trying to justify the fact that I haven’t posted in two weeks, but I really need to start scheduling these things.

Man, I really punched that one out.
